Mastering chinchompas was especially interesting because I chose to search using a form of animation cancelling called three-RuneScape gold. I will spare you the specifics–only know that by putting in more effort and getting some timing down, you can shorten the time necessary to complete certain actions by tricking the match engine into overriding a long animation with a brief one.
Old School Runescape is still using the identical engine from 11 years ago, and also this animation suggestion is only one of several ways players’ve pushed it to its limits. Veteran players have figured out the way to do all kinds of things Jagex never really planned , from multiplying animations into cheesing AI.
I spent more time on Hunter than any other skills, but they all follow the exact same pattern. They’re just like a tug-of-war with the game itself: as amounts begin to need more experience, you learn more efficient methods to train. As grindy as Runescape is, so long as you really feel like buy RS gold you’re about keeping up with the ever-lengthening EXP pub, and as long as you have a very clear goal in sight, it’s never too daunting.
But a lot of skills plateau disappointingly early on. The EXP pub keeps getting bigger but there’s nothing new to do in sight, and that’s really where leveling skills begins to get dull.
